Explanation

The Lord said: To you, who are free from envy, I will now declare this most secret knowledge, together with direct realisation. Knowing it, you will be freed from all that is inauspicious. Arjuna's openness makes him fit to receive it.

Chapter 9, the Raja Vidya Raja Guhya Yoga, opens with Krishna promising his most intimate teaching. He chooses Arjuna because he is anasuya, free of the envy or fault-finding that would make him resent a teacher who speaks of his own divinity. Jnana and vijnana, first paired in 7.2, mean understanding and its living realisation. Shankara takes the knowledge as that of Brahman. Ramanuja calls it the knowledge of bhakti, the most secret teaching. Many readers see this chapter as the heart of the Gita.
