Explanation
Always singing my glories, striving with firm resolve, and bowing to me with love, they worship me, ever united with me. Their whole life becomes an act of worship, through song, effort and humility. Each day is shaped by remembrance and love.
Krishna describes the daily life of the great souls of 9.13. Kirtana, singing or speaking of God's glory, became the heart of the bhakti movements of medieval India, from the Alvars and Nayanars of the south to Chaitanya, Tukaram, Mirabai and the Sikh tradition of kirtan. Ramanuja describes these devotees as unable to sustain themselves without constant praise and worship of the Lord. Shankara also reads the verse as describing the steady practice of the devoted. Firm vows (dridha-vrata) show that devotion includes discipline.
