1. About the service
The Hindu Book is a free, non-commercial devotional website offering the Panchang, prayers and scriptures with meaning, temple guides and festival information. Member accounts let you save bookmarks and reading progress across devices.
2. Your account
- You may sign in with Google or with a link sent to your email. Keep access to that Google account or email secure — anyone who can open it can sign in as you.
- Provide accurate information and use one account per person.
- You can delete your account at any time from your account page.
- We may suspend accounts that misuse the service.
3. Acceptable use
Please do not:
- post or submit content that is false, hateful, obscene, or disrespectful to any faith or community;
- try to break, overload or gain unauthorised access to the website or other members' data;
- copy the website's content in bulk, or use automated tools to scrape it;
- use the website for any unlawful purpose.
4. Content and accuracy
- Sacred texts (Sanskrit verses, chalisas, aartis and similar traditional works) are in the public domain. Meanings, explanations, temple guides and other writing on this site are our own work and may not be republished without permission, except for sharing individual verses with a link back to the site.
- We take great care with accuracy, but timings, festival dates, Panchang calculations and temple information can change or vary by place. Please confirm important details locally, and consult a qualified priest or guru for rituals and personal guidance.
- Photographs from Wikimedia Commons are used under their free licences and credited on each page.
5. Contributions
If you suggest corrections or submit content (for example through the Sevak program), you allow us to review, edit and publish it on the website, with credit where appropriate.
6. Third-party services
Sign-in is provided by Google Firebase, maps by Google Maps, and sharing through WhatsApp and other apps. Your use of those services is also governed by their terms.
7. No warranty and limitation of liability
The website is provided free and “as is”. To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any loss arising from use of the website or reliance on its information.
8. Changes
We may update these terms from time to time; the date below shows the latest version. Continuing to use the website means you accept the updated terms.
9. Governing law and contact
