Explanation
Why should we, who clearly see the evil of destroying a family, not know enough to turn back from this sin, Janardana?
Arjuna's argument now rests on knowledge: those who see the harm should avoid it. It is a reasonable principle, but the Gita will later ask whether Arjuna truly sees clearly. Krishna's reply in chapter 2 opens with the remark that Arjuna speaks words that sound wise while grieving for what does not warrant grief (2.11).
भावार्थ
परन्तु हे जनार्दन, कुल-नाश से होने वाले दोष को भली-भाँति देखने वाले हम लोगों को इस पाप से बचने का विचार क्यों न करना चाहिए?
Living it today
Feeling certain is not the same as seeing clearly. Test your conclusions, especially when emotions run high.
