Explanation
Krishna opens the tenth chapter by asking Arjuna to listen once more to his supreme teaching. He says he speaks it because Arjuna has been delighted by what he has heard so far, and because he wishes for Arjuna's good. The chapter that follows reveals Krishna's glories, the vibhūtis through which the Divine shows itself in the world.
Chapter 10 continues the mood of Chapter 9, the royal secret of devotion. Shankara notes that Krishna repeats his teaching because Arjuna's delight shows he is ready to receive more. Ramanuja stresses the word prīyamāṇa: Arjuna takes joy in hearing about the Lord, and that very joy draws out further teaching. Commentators often point out that the teacher speaks from hita, the listener's real welfare, not to display his greatness. The chapter is traditionally titled Vibhūti Yoga, the yoga of divine manifestations.
