Explanation
Steadfastness in sacrifice, austerity and charity is also called Sat, and any action done for that purpose is likewise named Sat. Krishna extends the word to the steady commitment behind good deeds and to all work done for the sake of the divine. Constancy and dedication themselves are forms of reality and goodness.
Shankara explains tad-arthīyam as action done for the sake of sacrifice, charity and austerity, or for the Lord, who is named by Tat. Commentators observe that the verse honours sthiti, steadfastness, not only the acts themselves: it is the continuing devotion that is called Sat. Together 17.24–27 show how Om, Tat and Sat sanctify the beginning, attitude and quality of every good action.
भावार्थ
