Explanation
A person who is devoted to his or her own work attains perfection. Krishna then promises to explain how one who is intent on one's own duty actually reaches that perfection — which he does in the next verse, where work offered to the source of all beings becomes worship.
This verse links the social description of 18.41-44 to the spiritual teaching that follows. Shankara holds that faithfully doing one's duty purifies the mind and makes one fit for the path of knowledge, which is the perfection meant here. Ramanuja sees it as karma-yoga leading to vision of the self. Tilak, in his Gita Rahasya, uses this verse to argue that the Gita teaches perfection through action itself rather than through giving action up.
भावार्थ
