Explanation

O King, as I recall again and again this wonderful and holy dialogue between Keshava and Arjuna, I rejoice over and over. For Sanjaya the teaching is not finished when it ends; each time he remembers it, fresh joy rises in him.

Sanjaya's joy shows the fruit of hearing the teaching with faith, as promised in 18.71. The repetition — remembering again and again, rejoicing again and again — reflects the way the Gita is meant to be returned to rather than read once. Commentators note the contrast with Dhritarashtra, who hears the same words but remains anxious about his sons. Many readers see in Sanjaya the model of the ideal listener.
