Explanation

Restraining all the senses, one should sit in yoga, intent on me; for one whose senses are under control, wisdom is firmly established.

Self-control alone is hard; Krishna adds "mat-para", intent on me — devotion gives the mind something higher to turn to.

Living it today

When a craving pulls, turn your mind to something you love more — a prayer, a name of God.
