Explanation

Some yogis perform sacrifice offered to the gods. Others offer sacrifice itself into the fire of Brahman, by means of sacrifice. With this verse Krishna begins listing the many different ways in which a human life can be lived as an offering.

Verses 25 to 30 describe a range of sacrifices, from external rituals to inner disciplines, showing that yajña is a broad principle and not only a fire rite. Shankara reads the second line as offering the individual self into Brahman, that is, knowing the self to be Brahman, which he calls the sacrifice of knowledge. Ramanuja takes it as offering the act of sacrifice itself into the Lord. The list widens the idea of sacred action so that every sincere discipline can be seen as worship.

भावार्थ
