Explanation
The state reached by those who follow the path of knowledge is also reached by those who follow the path of selfless action. One who sees knowledge and action as one truly sees. The destination is the same freedom, whichever road is taken.
The phrase he who sees truly sees recurs in the Gita (compare 13.27) and marks a point of real insight. Shankara understands the shared state as liberation, reached by the karma yogi through purification that leads on to knowledge. Ramanuja reads it as the vision of the pure self, which both disciplines yield. Madhva emphasises that the same Lord is the goal of both. The verse continues Krishna's effort to free Arjuna from the idea that he must choose between inner wisdom and outer duty.
