Explanation
Under my supervision, nature brings forth all things, moving and unmoving. Because of this, O son of Kunti, the world keeps turning. Nature does the work, and God is the presence that guides and enables it. So the great wheel of the world keeps turning.
Krishna clarifies his role: prakriti does the actual work of producing the world, and he is the adhyaksha, the presiding overseer whose presence makes it possible. Shankara compares this to the way the sun's light allows activity without the sun itself acting, and calls the Lord the witness. Ramanuja stresses that nature works according to the Lord's will. Aurobindo saw here the Gita's synthesis of the Sankhya idea of active nature with the Vedantic idea of a supreme Lord who governs it.
