Explanation
Duryodhana names his chief warriors: you yourself, Bhishma, Karna, Kripa who is ever victorious in battle, Ashvatthama, Vikarna and the son of Somadatta.
He names Drona first, a polite flattery, then Bhishma, the commander. Karna is Duryodhana's closest friend and Arjuna's great rival. Kripa is the family teacher of the Kuru princes; Ashvatthama is Drona's son; Vikarna is the Kaurava brother who alone spoke up for Draupadi in the dice hall; the son of Somadatta is Bhurishravas. Several of these men respected the Pandavas, which adds to the tragedy of the war.
