Explanation

And all these sons of Dhritarashtra, together with hosts of kings, Bhishma, Drona and that charioteer's son Karna, along with the chief warriors of our own side too — the sentence continues into the next verse, where Arjuna sees them all rushing into Krishna's mouths.

Here the vision turns to the battlefield before Arjuna. He sees the outcome of the war in advance: the Kauravas, their allied kings, Bhishma, Drona and Karna, and even leading warriors on the Pandava side, all being drawn to destruction. Karna is called 'the charioteer's son', the name by which he was known, though his birth was in fact royal. Commentators note that this answers Arjuna's uncertainty in 2.6 about who would win, and prepares for Krishna's words in 11.32 to 11.34.
