Meaning in English

Therefore rise up and win glory. Conquer your enemies and enjoy a flourishing kingdom. They have already been slain by me; be merely the instrument, O Savyasachin (ambidextrous archer).

Explanation

Therefore arise and win glory; conquer your enemies and enjoy a prosperous kingdom. These have already been slain by me; be merely the instrument, O ambidextrous archer.

"Nimitta-mātram bhava" — be merely the instrument — frees Arjuna from the burden of thinking everything depends on him. The outcome lies with the Divine; his part is to act rightly. It is a teaching about humility in action, not a call to violence.

Living it today

Do your part with full effort, but see yourself as an instrument — it removes both arrogance and fear.
