Explanation

I am thrilled to have seen what was never seen before, yet my mind is shaken with fear. Show me, O God, that same form of yours; be gracious, O Lord of gods, abode of the universe. Arjuna asks Krishna to return to his familiar form.

Arjuna's feeling is mixed: joy at the unprecedented sight, but fear that he cannot bear it for long. 'That same form' means the form he knew before, the gentle form of his friend. Commentators note that the human mind can glimpse the infinite but naturally longs for a form it can love and approach. The plea 'prasida' returns again, as in 11.25 and 11.31. Krishna will grant the request in 11.50.
