Frequently asked questions

What is the RSS Prarthana?

The Sangh Prarthana, “Namaste Sada Vatsale Matrubhume”, is a three-stanza Sanskrit prayer to the motherland, sung at the close of every shakha.

What is the Ekatmata Stotra?

A Sanskrit hymn of 33 shlokas that remembers Bharat’s sacred rivers, mountains, places, scriptures, saints, scientists and heroes, recited as an expression of national unity.

Why is Surya Namaskar part of shakha?

Surya Namaskar combines twelve postures with mantras to the sun, building strength, flexibility and discipline; it is a regular part of the physical programme of the shakha.

Can families use these prayers at home?

Yes. The Prarthana, Bhojan Mantra, Ekatmata Stotra and Subhashit are recited by many families at home, and each page gives the full text with meaning.
