On Vijayadashami 1931, K. B. Hedgewar gave the annual address at the gathering in Nagpur. This page summarises what was reported about it.
The day
- Date: 20 October 1931 — the calendar date of Vijayadashami; our sources do not record the exact day of the gathering
- Place: Nagpur
- Address by: K. B. Hedgewar (the head of the organisation at the time was Dr K. B. Hedgewar)
What the address covered
According to Palkar, Hedgewar came back to Nagpur after a tour of Vidarbha and stayed there through Vijayadashami. In his address he reviewed how far the Sangh had come towards its goal of reviving the Hindu nation, and noted that the public had seldom seen so many disciplined young men in one uniform outside the army and police. Answering people who wanted the now-large organisation to 'do something', he said the Sangh's 60 shakhas were only a drop in the ocean.
Context
First Vijayadashami after Hedgewar's release from jail. About 60 shakhas reported.
