   बन्दौ संतोषी चरण,
   जय गणेश सुकुमार।
   सुख सम्पति देहो भरण,
   मात कर कृपा उधार।।

   Bandau Santoṣī charaṇ,
   jai Gaṇeś sukumār.
   Sukh sampati deho bharaṇ,
   māt kar kṛpā udhār.

   मैं संतोषी माता के चरणों में प्रणाम करता हूँ और कोमल स्वरूप गणेश जी की जय बोलता हूँ। हे माँ, हमें भरपूर सुख और संपत्ति दीजिए और अपनी उद्धार करने वाली कृपा दिखाइए।

   जयति संतोषी माँ दुख हरणी।
   भक्त हृदय में वास धारणी।।

   Bhakta hṛday meṁ vās dhāraṇī.

   दुखों को हरने वाली संतोषी माँ की जय हो। आप भक्तों के हृदय में निवास करती हैं।

   स्वर्ण वर्ण सुन्दर कर धारी।
   मुख कमल पे शोभा न्यारी।।

   Svarṇ varṇ sundar kar dhārī.
   Mukh kamal pe śobhā nyārī.

   आपका रंग सोने जैसा है और आपके हाथ अत्यंत सुंदर हैं। आपके कमल जैसे मुख पर अनोखी शोभा है।

   Golden-complexioned, bearing a beautiful hand. Upon your lotus face, unique beauty shines.

   खड्ग त्रिशूल कर में सोहैं।
   सब दर्शन के मन को मोहैं।।

   Khaḍg triśūl kar meṁ sohaiṁ.
   Sab darśan ke man ko mohaiṁ.

   आपके हाथों में तलवार और त्रिशूल शोभा पाते हैं। जो भी आपके दर्शन करता है, उसका मन मोहित हो जाता है।

   Sword and trident grace your hand. All who behold are enchanted in mind.

8. Chaupai 7#

   सिंहवाहिनी भक्तन प्यारी।
   सब दुखहर्ता देव अविकारी।।

   Siṁha-vāhinī bhaktan pyārī.
   Sab dukhahartā dev avikārī.

   आप सिंह पर सवार हैं और भक्तों को अत्यंत प्रिय हैं। आप सब दुखों को हरने वाली और सदा एक समान रहने वाली देवी हैं।

   Lion-mounted, beloved of devotees. Remover of all sorrow, unchanging Goddess.

9. Chaupai 8#

   नीले अम्बर तन सोहावन।
   रक्त कमल ज्यों अति मन भावन।।

   Nīle ambar tan sohāvan.
   Rakt kamal jyoṁ ati man bhāvan.

   नीले वस्त्र आपके शरीर पर सुंदर लगते हैं। आप लाल कमल की तरह मन को अत्यंत प्रिय लगती हैं।

   Blue garments adorn your body beautifully. Like a red lotus, deeply pleasing to the heart.

10. Chaupai 9#

    शुक्रवार व्रत जो नर कर है।
    ता के सब कष्ट भग जात हैं।।

    Śukravār vrat jo nar kar hai.
    Tā ke sab kaṣṭ bhag jāt haiṁ.

    जो व्यक्ति शुक्रवार का व्रत करता है, उसके सारे कष्ट भाग जाते हैं।

    Whoever observes the Friday vrat — all their troubles flee away.

11. Chaupai 10#

    भक्त जनन की सुधि लीन्हो।
    शीघ्र फल भक्तन को दीन्हो।।

    Bhakta janan kī sudhi līnho.
    Śīghra phal bhaktan ko dīnho.

    आप अपने भक्तों की सदा सुध लेती हैं और उन्हें शीघ्र फल देती हैं।

    You take notice of your devotees. You give quick results to them.

12. Chaupai 11#

    सोलह शुक्रवार व्रत करत भाई।
    होत पूर्ण मनोकामना साँई।।

    Solah śukravār vrat karat bhāī.
    Hot pūrṇa manokāmanā sā-īṁ.

    हे भाई, सोलह शुक्रवार का व्रत करने से मन की सारी इच्छाएँ पूरी हो जाती हैं।

    Observing the sixteen Friday vrat, O brother — all heart-desires attain fulfillment.

13. Chaupai 12#

    खट्टा-मिट्ठा नहिं खाना।
    व्रत में शुद्ध रहो माना।।

    Khaṭṭā-miṭṭhā nahi-ṁ khānā.
    Vrat meṁ śuddh raho mānā.

    व्रत में खट्टा और मीठा नहीं खाना चाहिए, और व्रत के दौरान पवित्र रहना चाहिए, ऐसा कहा गया है।

    Eat nothing sour or sweet. During the vrat remain pure, it is said.

14. Chaupai 13#

    गुड़-चने के भोग लगाओ।
    जल पियो व्रत पूर्ण कराओ।।

    Guṛ-chane ke bhog lagāo.
    Jal piyo vrat pūrṇ karāo.

    माँ को गुड़ और चने का भोग लगाइए, जल पीजिए और इस प्रकार व्रत पूरा कीजिए।

    Offer jaggery and gram as bhog. Drink water and complete the vrat.

15. Chaupai 14#

    कथा सुनो चित्त लगाये।
    व्रत का यह विधान पावे।।

    Kathā suno chitt lagāye.
    Vrat kā yah vidhān pāve.

    मन लगाकर व्रत की कथा सुनिए, इसी से व्रत की पूरी विधि प्राप्त होती है।

    Listen to the story with full attention. One attains the rite of the vrat.

16. Chaupai 15#

    दीन दयाल दयावन्ती माता।
    देहु कृपा दीन दुख दाता।।

    Dīn dayāl dayāvantī Mātā.
    Dehu kṛpā dīn dukh dātā.

    हे दीनों पर दया करने वाली करुणामयी माता, कृपा कीजिए। आप दीन-दुखियों के दुख दूर करने वाली हैं।

    Merciful to the humble, compassionate Mother. Grant grace, redeemer of the humble's sorrow.

17. Chaupai 16#

    सोलह सप्ताह व्रत पूरो।
    कामना पूर्ण होत सब ज़रूर।।

    Solah saptāh vrat pūro.
    Kāmanā pūrṇ hot sab zarūr.

    सोलह सप्ताह का व्रत पूरा कीजिए, इससे सारी कामनाएँ अवश्य पूरी होती हैं।

    Complete sixteen weeks of vrat. All desires are certainly fulfilled.

18. Chaupai 17#

    उद्यापन कर व्रत पूरण होए।
    ब्राह्मण भोज कराय देओ भाई।।

    Udyāpan kar vrat pūraṇ hoe.
    Brāhmaṇ bhoj karāy deo bhāī.

    उद्यापन करने से व्रत पूर्ण होता है। हे भाई, उस समय ब्राह्मणों को भोजन कराइए।

    By udyapan the vrat is completed. Feed Brahmanas, O brother.

19. Chaupai 18#

    आठ बालकन भोजन दीजै।
    दान दक्षिणा से तृप्त कीजै।।

    Āṭh bālakan bhojan dījai.
    Dān dakṣiṇā se tṛpt kījai.

    आठ बालकों को भोजन कराइए और उन्हें दान-दक्षिणा देकर संतुष्ट कीजिए।

    Feed eight boys. Satisfy them with gifts and offerings.

20. Chaupai 19#

    जयति संतोषी मात भवानी।
    सब मंगल करणी कल्याणी।।

    Jayati Santoṣī Māt Bhavānī.
    Sab maṅgal karaṇī kalyāṇī.

    हे संतोषी माता भवानी, आपकी जय हो। आप सब मंगल करने वाली और कल्याण देने वाली हैं।

    Victory to Mother Santoshi, Bhavani. Doer of all auspiciousness, bringer of welfare.

21. Chaupai 20#

    दीनन के दीन दुख हरणी।
    सब सन्तन की सुख करणी।।

    Dīnan ke dīn dukh haraṇī.
    Sab santan kī sukh karaṇī.

    आप दीन-दुखियों के दुख हरने वाली हैं और सभी संतों को सुख देने वाली हैं।

    Remover of the humble's sorrows. Doer of joy for all the saints.

22. Chaupai 21#

    जो यह चालीसा नित गावे।
    सब मनोरथ पूरन पावे।।

    Jo yah Chālīsā nit gāve.
    Sab manorath pūran pāve.

    जो प्रतिदिन यह चालीसा गाता है, उसकी मन की सारी इच्छाएँ पूरी हो जाती हैं।

    Whoever daily sings this Chalisa — all heart-wishes attain fulfillment.

23. Chaupai 22#

    कीरत तुम्हरी गावैं जग जन।
    भक्त हिय में सदा वास करत मन।।

    Kīrat tumharī gāvaiṁ jag jan.
    Bhakta hiy meṁ sadā vās karat man.

    संसार के सभी लोग आपकी कीर्ति गाते हैं। आप भक्तों के हृदय में सदा निवास करती हैं।

    All the people of the world sing your praise. In the devotee's heart you ever dwell.

24. Chaupai 23#

    मीत बन्धु सब दूर पहाय।
    मात कृपा से सब मिल जाय।।

    Mīt bandhu sab dūr pahāy.
    Māt kṛpā se sab mil jāy.

    मित्र और बंधु-बांधव कितने भी दूर हों, पास आ जाते हैं। माँ की कृपा से सब कुछ मिल जाता है।

    Friends and kin, however far, come near. By Mother's grace, all is attained.

25. Chaupai 24#

    अन्न-धन सम्पति देत माता।
    दीनन के तुम हो विख्याता।।

    Ann-dhan sampati det Mātā.
    Dīnan ke tum ho vikhyātā.

    हे माता, आप अन्न, धन और संपत्ति देती हैं। दीन-दुखियों के बीच आप प्रसिद्ध हैं।

    Food, wealth, and prosperity you give, Mother. Among the humble you are renowned.

26. Chaupai 25#

    घर में सुख सम्पति बढ़ावैं।
    दुःख दारिद्र दूर भगावैं।।

    Ghar meṁ sukh sampati baṛhāvaiṁ.
    Duḥkh dāridr dūr bhagāvaiṁ.

    आपकी कृपा से घर में सुख और संपत्ति बढ़ती है तथा दुख और गरीबी दूर भाग जाते हैं।

    In the home joy and wealth increase. Sorrow and poverty flee far away.

27. Chaupai 26#

    मानस की कामना पुरवैं।
    सच्चे मन से सेवा करवैं।।

    Mānas kī kāmanā puravai-ṁ.
    Sachche man se sevā karavai-ṁ.

    जो सच्चे मन से आपकी सेवा करते हैं, आप उनके मन की कामनाएँ पूरी करती हैं।

    You fulfill the wishes of the heart, for those who serve with a true mind.

28. Chaupai 27#

    नि:सन्तान जो तुम्हरी ध्यावे।
    सन्तान सुख पुण्य पावे।।

    Niḥsantān jo tumharī dhyāve.
    Santān sukh puṇya pāve.

    जो निःसंतान व्यक्ति आपका ध्यान करता है, उसे संतान का सुख और पुण्य प्राप्त होता है।

    Whoever is childless and meditates on you — attains the joy of children and merit.

29. Chaupai 28#

    दरिद्री दुःखी जो नर ध्यावे।
    सब सुख सम्पति शीघ्र पावे।।

    Daridrī duḥkhī jo nar dhyāve.
    Sab sukh sampati śīghra pāve.

    जो गरीब और दुखी व्यक्ति आपका ध्यान करता है, उसे जल्दी ही सब सुख और संपत्ति मिल जाती है।

    The poor and sorrowful who meditate on you — quickly attain all joy and wealth.

30. Chaupai 29#

    रोगी जो तुम्हरो नाम सुमिरे।
    वा के रोग सब दूर करे।।

    Rogī jo tumharo nām sumire.
    Vā ke rog sab dūr kare.

    जो रोगी आपके नाम का स्मरण करता है, उसके सारे रोग दूर हो जाते हैं।

    The sick who remember your name — their illnesses are all taken away.

31. Chaupai 30#

    भक्त जनन को शरण में लीजे।
    भक्ति अविचल माँ अब दीजे।।

    Bhakta janan ko śaraṇ meṁ līje.
    Bhakti avichal Māṁ ab dīje.

    हे माँ, भक्तों को अपनी शरण में ले लीजिए और अब उन्हें अटल भक्ति दीजिए।

    Take devotees into your refuge. Grant unwavering devotion now, Mother.

32. Chaupai 31#

    सुख सम्पति सब जग में तुम ही।
    करो मेहर पालन हारी तुम ही।।

    Sukh sampati sab jag meṁ tum hī.
    Karo mehar pālan hārī tum hī.

    संसार के सारे सुख और संपत्ति आप ही हैं। हम पर दया कीजिए, आप ही सबका पालन करने वाली हैं।

    Joy and prosperity in all the world — you alone. Show mercy — you alone are the protector.

33. Chaupai 32#

    मंगलमय है रूप तुम्हारो।
    कृपा दृष्टि हो सदा हमारो।।

    Maṅgalamay hai rūp tumhāro.
    Kṛpā dṛṣṭi ho sadā hamāro.

    आपका रूप मंगल से भरा हुआ है। आपकी कृपा-दृष्टि हम पर सदा बनी रहे।

    Your form is full of auspiciousness. May your merciful gaze ever be upon us.

34. Chaupai 33#

    पाठ चालीसा नित जो गावे।
    रोग मुक्त सुख सम्पति पावे।।

    Pāṭh Chālīsā nit jo gāve.
    Rog mukta sukh sampati pāve.

    जो प्रतिदिन इस चालीसा का पाठ करता है, वह रोगों से मुक्त होता है और सुख-संपत्ति पाता है।

    Whoever daily recites this Chalisa — becomes free from disease, gains joy and prosperity.

35. Chaupai 34#

    करहु कृपा जग के हितकारी।
    जय संतोषी भवानी हमारी।।

    Karahu kṛpā jag ke hitakārī.
    Jai Santoṣī Bhavānī hamārī.

    हे संसार का भला करने वाली, कृपा कीजिए। हमारी संतोषी भवानी माँ की जय हो।

36. Chaupai 35#

    अनेक दुःख से तुम उबारो।
    करौ कृपा मेहर अब डारो।।

    Anek duḥkh se tum ubāro.
    Karau kṛpā mehar ab ḍāro.

    हे माँ, हमें अनेक दुखों से उबारिए। कृपा कीजिए और अब हम पर दया बरसाइए।

    Lift us from manifold sorrows. Grant grace, now shower mercy.

37. Chaupai 36#

    भक्त कहत विनय अपार।
    देहु कृपा भव पार उतार।।

    Bhakta kahat vinay apār.
    Dehu kṛpā bhav pār utār.

    भक्त आपसे बार-बार विनती करता है कि कृपा करके हमें संसार रूपी सागर से पार उतार दीजिए।

    The devotee speaks boundless prayer. Grant grace — carry us across the ocean of worldly existence.

38. Chaupai 37#

    जयति संतोषी मात अधिकारी।
    जयति सम्पदा सुख सिद्धकारी।।

    Jayati Santoṣī Māt adhikārī.
    Jayati sampadā sukh siddhakārī.

    सबकी स्वामिनी संतोषी माता की जय हो। संपत्ति, सुख और सिद्धि देने वाली माँ की जय हो।

    Victory to Mother Santoshi, Mistress. Victory, bringer of prosperity, joy, and attainment.

39. Chaupai 38#

    पुत्र पौत्र हित सुख सब पावें।
    मनोकामना पूरण होत आवें।।

    Putra pautr hit sukh sab pāveṁ.
    Manokāmanā pūraṇ hot āveṁ.

    आपकी कृपा से पुत्र-पौत्रों को सब सुख मिलते हैं और मन की सारी कामनाएँ पूरी होती हैं।

    For sons and grandsons, all joy is attained. Heart-wishes come to be fulfilled.

40. Chaupai 39#

    आठ बालक को भोजन कराय।
    उद्यापन विधि सांग करावाय।।

    Āṭh bālak ko bhojan karāy.
    Udyāpan vidhi sāṅg karāvāy.

    आठ बालकों को भोजन कराइए और उद्यापन की विधि अच्छी तरह पूरी कीजिए।

    Feed eight boys. Complete the udyapan rite properly.

41. Chaupai 40#

    दीन्ह आस आये हम द्वार।
    करो कृपा हे मात उबार।।

    Dīnh ās āye ham dvār.
    Karo kṛpā he Māt ubār.

    हे माँ, हम आशा लेकर आपके द्वार पर आए हैं। कृपा करके हमारा उद्धार कीजिए।

    With hope we have come to your door. Grant grace, Mother, lift us up.

42. Closing Doha 1#

    जय संतोषी मात अब,
    करौ कृपा जग त्रात।
    जो यह पाठ नित करे,
    होत नहीं दुःख घात।।

    Jai Santoṣī Māt ab,

    Jo yah pāṭh nit kare,
    hot nahīṁ duḥkh ghāt.

    हे संसार की रक्षा करने वाली संतोषी माता, आपकी जय हो, अब कृपा कीजिए। जो प्रतिदिन यह पाठ करता है, उस पर कभी दुख का आघात नहीं होता।

    Victory to Mother Santoshi — now grant grace, O saviour of the world. Whoever recites this daily, no stroke of sorrow befalls them.
