On Vijayadashami 1945, M. S. Golwalkar gave the annual address at the gathering in Nagpur. This page summarises what was reported about it.
The day
- Date: 16 October 1945 — the calendar date of Vijayadashami; our sources do not record the exact day of the gathering
- Place: Nagpur
- Address by: M. S. Golwalkar
What the address covered
The Samagra summary has Golwalkar marking twenty years of the Sangh. He argued that other organisations had forgotten that Hindustan is the Hindus' natural homeland, and that people who hate their past cannot build a future. He named provincialism as a vice affecting even national leaders, and contrasted it with the Sangh, which he said ran shakhas in every province from Calcutta to Karachi. He predicted that Hindus who stood apart would eventually be drawn to the Sangh. In the Shastra Puja talk he used Rama's organised army of vanaras to argue that organised strength defeats material power.
Context
The Sangh's twentieth anniversary.
How sure is this?
This account rests mainly on one source, listed below; details may be incomplete. For these years the main source is the organisation's own compilation of Golwalkar's talks (Shri Guruji Samagra), which prints edited summaries rather than verbatim transcripts.
