What Jai Saraswati Mata — Saraswati Aarti means

The Saraswati aarti describes the goddess as she appears in her images — moon-faced, seated on a lotus, riding the swan, with the veena in one hand and the rosary in the other — and asks for one thing above all: "fill us with the light of knowledge and destroy ignorance and darkness from the world".

One verse recalls a well-known story: when the gods needed Rama to go to the forest so that Ravana could be destroyed, Saraswati entered the mind of Kaikeyi's maid Manthara. The Ramcharitmanas tells this in its Ayodhya Kand; the aarti uses it to show that even speech and thought move by her will.
