What Shri Govardhan Maharaj — Govardhan Aarti means
Govardhan, the sacred hill near Mathura, is worshipped as Giriraj — the king of mountains — and as a form of Krishna himself, who lifted it on his little finger for seven days to shelter the people of Braj from Indra's storms. The aarti addresses the hill as a crowned king, describing the betel, flowers and streams of milk offered to him, his jewels and his grand darshan.
