What Hanuman Mantras means

Hanuman is prayed to for strength, courage, protection from fear and the removal of obstacles. "Om Ham Hanumate Namah" is the simplest mantra, built on his seed sound "ham"; "Manojavam" from the Ram Raksha Stotram and "Atulita baladhamam" from the opening of Tulsidas's Sundar Kand describe his swiftness, strength, wisdom and devotion.

"Buddhir balam" lists what remembering Hanuman brings — intelligence, strength, fame, courage, fearlessness, health, alertness and eloquence — while "Yatra yatra" gives the tender picture of Hanuman standing with folded hands and tear-filled eyes wherever Rama's name is sung.
