Brahma and the gods, the sage Narada, and Valmiki, master of wisdom, sing it; Shuka, Sanaka and the sages, Shesha and Sharada (Saraswati) — and the son of the Wind has described its beautiful glory.

  3. Verse 2#

    Sār aṁs sammat sabahī kī.

The Vedas and the eighteen Puranas sing it; it is the essence of the six shastras and of all scriptures — the wealth of sages, the all-in-all of saints, the essence accepted by all.

  4. Verse 3#

Shambhu and Bhavani sing it always, and the wise sage born from a pot (Agastya); Vyasa and the great poets have praised it — the very story told by Kakabhushundi to Garuda.

Dalan rog bhav mūri amī kī.
Tāt māt sab bidhi Tulasī kī.

It removes the filth of the Kali age and makes the taste of sense-pleasure dull; it is the lovely adornment of the maiden Liberation; it is the nectar-root that destroys the disease of worldly life — father and mother in every way to Tulsi.

What Aarti Shri Ramayan Ji Ki means

This aarti is unusual: it is sung not to a deity but to a book — the Ramayana itself. It is sung at the end of every Ramayana path, Sundar Kand recitation and Akhand Ramayan, as the book is honoured with the lamp.

It lists all who sing the Ramayana — Brahma, Narada, Valmiki, Shuka, Shesha, Saraswati, Hanuman, the Vedas and Puranas, Shiva and Parvati, Agastya, Vyasa, and Kakabhushundi who told it to Garuda — and ends by calling it the nectar-root against the disease of worldly life, "father and mother in every way to Tulsi".
